nervous patient as well as being keen to promote the well
recognised links between oral health and total body health.
He
graduated in Dentistry at King's College, University of London
and subsequently in Medicine at St. George's Hospital, University
of London with a certificate of merit for surgery. He holds
a Primary Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College
of Surgeons, England and he has a Certificate in Clinical
Implantology from the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Health
Care Sciences. Dr Hawkesford is a member of the British Dental
Association, the Association of Dental Implantology, an associate
member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgeons and a member of the Eastman Academy.
As
well as working for many years in both private and NHS general
and specialist practice, he has held several hospital appointments
in oral surgery, prosthetic and conservative dentistry and
also in general surgery, ENT surgery, orthopaedic and trauma
surgery, accident and emergency medicine, general medicine
and care of the elderly.
He
has undertaken postgraduate education in North America, Europe
and the UK and regularly lectures to dentists and professionals
complimentary to dentistry in the UK.
Outside
his busy clinical schedule he occasionally finds time to see
his young family, is a keen skier and accomplished pianist
and oboist.
